I’m Attending WordCamp, What else I can do in Nashik?
WordCamp Nashik will be a day long event, if you are attending the event you should consider staying here for atleast one additional day because there are number of exquisite places to explore in and around Nashik. You can call Nashik as the city of temples, it is one of the holiest place in India. Nashik is also known for its vineyards, trekking, hills, waterfalls, missal pav, dams, café, restaurants and much more.
Here we have listed few good places that you should consider exploring if you are in Nashik:
Panchvati
It is believed that Lord Ram, Laxman and Sita stayed here during their exile. This place got its name from the five banyan trees that are along the river side. People from many parts of India visit here to take a holy dip to cleanse their sins. During Kumbh mela thousands of pilgrims take holy dip. If there is ample water during your visit, you should go for it.
Trimbakeshwar
One of the twelve jyotirlinga shrines that is associated with the origin of river Godavari. From the WordCamp venue Trimbakeshwar is 25.1 km away. You will enjoy the ride, the roads are surrounded by farmland and lush green field and mountains.
Anjaneri Hills
It is believed to be the birth place of Lord Hanuman situated very close to Trimbakeshwar. It’s one of the exquisite attraction for hikers.
Vineyards
There are more than 30 wineries in Nashik. If you have never visited a vineyard then it should be on top of your list. The wineries are open for visitors, you can take a tour, try wine tasting and check the wine making process, explore the surrounding. You can try Sula, Soma or York wineries. These are the nearby options from the WordCamp venue. You can reach there within 25 – 30 minutes.
Sandhan Valley
Known for its poor 3G mobile network ROFL….any ways it’s located near Bhandardara region in Samrad village which is 85 km away from Nashik. Park your vehicle in the village, the locals serve veg and non-veg good, give your food order and then start your trek. You can enjoy rappelling, crossing water pool, bird chirping – it’s a life time experience.
Misal Pav Joints
Trust me your taste buds will actually enjoy the real Misal Pav in Nashik unlike what you have eaten so far in the name of Misal Pav in other cities. Here are few options which you may try:
- Bhamre Misal – Shivaji Chowk, Cidco
- Tushar Misal – College Road
- Shree Krishna Vijay – Gangapur Road
- Ambika – Panchvati Karanja
- Vihar – Gangapur Road
- Shamsundar – Satpur MIDC
- Sadhana – Near Someshwar
Let us know in comments if you are looking for more details on the aforementioned places.
